'''Improvement''' is the process of increasing the base stats of a vehicle (power, accuracy, and defense). Success is based on the character's '''MS MA Construction''' [[Skills|skill]], however it does not increase when improvements are made[confirm].
==Process==
Improvement is a subset of vehicle construction operations, and is therefore performed at a MS MA factory.
To improve a vehicle, it must first be in the factory's inventory.
* Newly crafted vehicles will appear in the factory until they are removed or disassembled.
* Existing vehicles can be piloted to the factory, dismounted, and then dragged into the open factory window.
The vehicle must also have available upgrades remaining.
* Vehicles are limited to 8 total upgrades across all three stats.
* Not all vehicles can be upgraded.
You also need the appropriate upgrade item(s).
* For increasing to levels 1-7, the items are purchasable at a materials shop.
** Power: enhancement package
** Hit Accuracy: accuracy improvement package
** Defense: defense improvement package
* For increasing to level 8 (Ultimate), the items must be mined in a PVP zone (Richmond or Newman).
** Power: Ginius parts
** Hit Accuracy: Mosk parts
** Defense: Tem parts
* For all upgrades, multiple items may be required based on the desired level and the specific MS.
** Example: a RX-77-4 Guncannon II requires 7x items to upgrade to level 1, 7x to 2, 10x to 3, 11x to 4, 13x to 5, 15x to 6, and 17x to 7. Level 8 requires 1x of the special parts.
** A specific breakdown will be available on the Mobile Suit Stats page at some point.
Once you have the vehicle to be upgraded in the factory and the necessary upgrade items available in your inventory, select Improve at the factory, pick one of the three stats, select Next, then select Start.
* If improvement fails, you will not be refunded any of the upgrade parts.
* If it succeeds, the chosen stat will be increased by 1.
==Specifications and Builds==
In UCGO, the client will display your vehicle's stat using letters - the Machine window shows an unmodified vehicle with Pow, Hit, and Def of "F" which refers to "Fair" or level 0. The words they represent are not as simple to remember as numbers, which is why the numbers are more commonly used; see the following table for reference.

Players will usually refer to vehicle stats in the way that Japanese players originally did on the live server, as "###" with one number each for power, hit accuracy, and defense, since it is easiest to communicate. Some example stat layouts are:
* 107: one power, very high defense - PVE build
* 701: very high power, intended for fast-strike PVP
* 404: balanced between power and defense
* 170: high accuracy for sniper builds
