Mining is the process of extracting raw ore and other items from a designated mining zone. Success[?] is based on the player's Mining skill.
Process
To mine, you need a YDD-614 with mining drill parts equipped to its weapon slot.
- The YDD-614 can be purchased at a machine shop (Vehicle tab). It can also be crafted, allowing for a better engine than the default (tank type C level 1).
- The mining drill parts can be purchased at a weapons shop (TF tab). The drill does not require ammunition, but each successful use will damage it by 1%. At 100% damage it must be manually replaced to continue mining, as it is not destroyed. Damaged drills can be resold to a weapons shop for a small amount of currency.
You also need to be in a designated mining zone.
- For the Federation, the preset locations are Canberra's Mine and Southern Cross's Mine; for the Principality of Zeon, Adelaide's Mine and Brisbane's Mine.
- The PVP sites of Richmond and Newman have sizable areas that can be mined, as well as resources unique to them.
- Mining base camps have a bank, a hangar, a machine shop, and a weapons shop (PVP sites have even more). It is therefore possible to purchase and outfit a mining rig on-site with default equipment.
Once you are driving your mining rig and in a mining zone, use the /mine
command.
- If you are not in a valid mining area, you will see "INFO: Mining cannot be done here" in the Journal.
- If you forgot to install a drill, you will see "INFO: You don't have the required tools equipped" in the Journal.
- If your drill is 100% damaged, you will see "INFO: Required tools are broken" in the Journal.
- Otherwise, a progress bar with a Cancel button will appear, at the end of which you will see either a display of mining products you received, or (due to low skill or possibly lack of inventory space) an orange Attention dialog with 'mining failed'.
- Since mining can be canceled, the Mining skill is increased at the end of the mining cycle, rather than at the start of the operation as in most processes.
Products
Raw ores from mining are mostly used in refining at a RawMaterial factory to create metals used in crafting. All raw ores are 100kg and stack up to 2000.
Name | Sell for | Uses |
---|---|---|
bauxite | 80 | Titanium Alloy, Titanium Ceramic Composite, shields |
iron ore | 70 | Super High Tensile Steel, shields |
lunatitanium | 945 | Lunatitanium Alloy (Federation only) |
rutile | 120 | all crafted metals |
All gems and fossils are non-stacking items of 10kg each, which seem to require Mining skill 60+ [needs confirmation]. They currently have no use beyond selling to a materials shop.
Name | Sell for |
---|---|
ammonite fossil | 80000 |
apeman fossil | 100000 |
gemstone amethyst | 20000 |
gemstone diamond | 60000 |
gemstone emerald | 40000 |
gemstone opal | 10000 |
gemstone ruby | 30000 |
gemstone sapphire | 50000 |
gemstone topaz | 15000 |
lizard fossil | 65000 |
skull fossil | 70000 |
trilobite fossil | 90000 |
Upgrade parts (mined versions) are used to achieve the maximum upgrade level, Ultimate, when improving vehicles. All are 20kg each and [presumably] stack to 2000, and are only found by mining in specific locations in PVP zones. Ginius and Mosk parts are also used to craft the magnetic coating required to craft a variant of the RX-78-2 Gundam.
